  • Thin-skinned

One of my weaknesses is buying shoes.  Okay, so I know that doesn’t make me unique among women.  In fact, it probably adds me to a sisterhood of millions.

But there is one pet peeve I have with shoe manufacturers.  That is when they sew a brand name tag onto the insole of the shoe.

I just bought a pair of Skechers shoes from endless.com that I really like with one exception.  The brand name is sewn into the shoe’s insole.

I’ve experienced this with other brands, too, like Mudd.

Am I the only one with thin-skinned feet?  This is really uncomfortable for me.  I’m going out at lunch today and buy some insoles to put in these shoes so I don’t have to feel that tag.

  • I’ve been annoyed by the same shoe irritation, tags sewn in with that clear fishing line and its little end pieces sticking up intothe sole of my foot. Also, some tags are sewn in with a hard shiny thread that is very irritating to my sjin. I;ve gone so far as to put Band-Aids over top of the tags. But after a day they wear off and then I’m left with a sticky mess inside the shoe. So I have to re-Band-Aid everytime I wear them. Those tags have caused runs in my stockings. What a dumb idea these manufacturers and designers have come up with. It was probably a ‘brilliant idea’ from some man, certainly not a woman who wears the shoes.

  • @TNuts - LOL You’re probably right!

  • Go to a fabric store and buy a seam ripper.  I found that a seam ripper can get into those tiiiiiny little stitches and pop them out.

  • @ExLibris - I ended up buying some gel inserts for my heels.  Not sure yet how I feel about them because they are kind of squishy LOL
