  • Satire taken for serious writing

    O.M.G.

This featured post was a satire on the economic bailout (I Hope Obama Can Do Something About My Weight Problem).  And I can NOT believe the number of comments the girl received telling her that the government wasn’t responsible for her weight gain.

While the article was funny, the comments were hysterical – are people REALLY that stoopid!!??

To get to her underlying message. . .

Personally, I hate the thought of one of my neighbors in their 3500 sq ft house getting government help (READ: my tax dollars at work) so they don’t lose their mortgage while I am paying my own mortgage for my 1500 sq ft house without government help thankyouverymuch.  I would love to move into a 6000 sq foot mansion BUT I LEARNED TO LIVE WITHIN MY MEANS.

Maybe we should take 8 billion dollars and build more homeless shelters.

  • Catching up on sleep

These two cats keep me up at night.  When we just had Ping, she would come and lay on our bed and stay in one spot all night.  Now we have the kitten and she likes to chase tails,  His and Pings.  He also likes to claw and bite.  So half the night I’m trying to keep Nico off Ping’s tail.

I slept til 1pm today.  I feel like I wasted half the day catching up on sleep.  Oh well.  Better than feeling fatigued all weekend

  • By request, new hair pics

Here is the color my hair was before:

    Here is the color now:

I need to learn how to focus my webcam LOL

The new color is much warmer although the old color is more like my natural color.

  • Decided to take my colorist’s advice

I walked into the salon last night after work and talked for a few minutes to the colorist, while she was pawing around my hair.  She noted that my hair has layers of color.  (I hadn’t noticed.)  The roots are really dark (my natural color is dark brown).  The ends are dark, the middle part was a shade or two lighter (gradually darkening to the ends.)  Maybe this is just how do-it-yourself coloring works (or doesn’t, as the case may be.)

She advised against using a color that was too light (I had been thinking light ash brown with dark golden blonde highlights because my complexion has lightened over the years, as I’ve avoided the sun.)  Because of my dark roots, she recommended a color that was a dark chestnut color (she kept calling it caramel, but to me, that is light brown.)  Then she suggested subtle highlights.  We looked through a book and found a picture that had a look that we both agreed would work on me.  So now my hair is dark chestnut with very subtle reddish highlights.

Mac thought it looked great.  And since he looks at it more than anyone, that’s all that matters

  • This was a fun thing to do

Stolen from Tyche who stole it from someone else LOL  I think this would be a folk album.  I don’t know how to tag anyone, but if you decide to try it, let me know   Also, I haven’t installed photoshop back on my computer since I got it back from the shop, so I used Windows Paint.

1 – Click here. The first random Wikipedia article you get is the name of your band, man.

2 – Click here. The last four or five words of the very last quote of the page is the title of your fantasy album. (Click on “more random quotes” at the bottom of the page if you get the same as mine, which is what happened when I clicked more than once)

3 – Click here. The third picture, no matter what it is, will be your album cover.

4 – Use Photoshop or similar to put it all together.

5 – Post and tag the friends you want to afflict – er, invite to make an album of their own.

  • Beyond the point of no return

I did it.  I made the appointment.  I am getting my hair colored tonight after work.

I was going to get it cut, but Sebastian is out of town until the second week in March, so I’ll just wait.

    I’ll post pictures.

  • My Conservative Identity

Kinda stolen from Tyche – except I had to search for the conservative complement to her Liberal Identity.  Haha, we never talk politics – that’s how we stay such good friends!

How to Win a Fight With a Liberal is the ultimate survival guide for political arguments

    My Conservative Identity:

You are a Free Marketeer, also known as a fiscal conservative. You believe in free-market capitalism, tax cuts, and protecting your hard-earned cash from pick-pocketing liberal socialists.

  • I think I have a repetitive motion injury

My index finger on my right hand hurts like hell.  From using my mouse.  Playing World of Warcraft.

Is that pathetic or what?  LOL

  • I want to ignore my diabetes!

Fat Tuesday is coming up.  You know what that means.  Pacski!!! (pronounced poonch key)  These are polish donuts that are probably a gazillion calories, mostly carbs/sugar.  But maybe with a double-dose of insulin, I can have one (or two).  I normally don’t like jelly-filled donuts, but these are….mmmmmmmmmmmm almost better than sex.  (I said almost.)

I am marking my calendar right now.  February 24 this year.

  • Inspired by my gray hair

I’ll be the first to admit I color my hair.  In fact, when someone asks me what color my hair is, I usually respond with L’Oreal 5C – which translated means Medium Ash Brown.  The other day I noticed that I must have a few gray hairs right at the front where the color is fading faster.  Those strands look golden brown – a shade or two lighter than my other hair.  And I think I kind of like it.

I think I’m going to make an appointment to have my hair colored a lighter ash brown with golden blond highlights.  Kind of like this picture of Jaclyn Smith (I wish I could get her face, too LOL)  There’s probably some air brushing going on here, but damn she looks great at 63!  I digress…  The coloring in her hair is kind of like what I had in mind.
